Julie Chen Moonves will host the summer hit reality series Big Brother. The show is set to return to CBS on 5 August for its 2nd season. Chen Moonves has been a part of The Talk since 2010, in which she served as both moderator and host. Her real passion came when she began writing her own show and won an Emmy. She also won an Emmy for her role as host of an outstanding entertainment talk program. Her background in news made her a natural for the switch into The Talk, which examines current events and issues through the eyes of five female hosts.Chen Moonves hosted the co-hosted version on CBS News' weekday morning broadcast The Early Show from 2002 to 2010. Prior to this, Chen Moonves was the CBS Morning News' anchor as well as anchor of the news segment for The Early Show. In the wake of 9/11, Chen Moonves tracked down the father of the hijackers and their leader for an exciting and exclusive interview. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news programme, profiling celebrities like Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel to produce the Columbia du-Pont-winning special Anatomy of a Riot which focussed on events surrounding the Los Angeles riots of '92.
