Emily Irene VanCamp who initially wanted to become professional dancer, became interested in acting after visiting her sister Katie at the filming location of the film Ladies Room. The actress began taking acting classes and simultaneously landed roles as a guest on a TV show in her homeland Canada. Her appearances have been in a number of series, such as Are You Afraid Of The Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp made a significant career breakthrough when he was selected to play the role of regular Sam Dolan in WB's horror show, the mystery Glory Days. Though the show garnered positive reviews, its low rating led to it being cancelled after just nine episodes. However, she was successful in securing another role as Amy Abbott on Everwood. For this part, it was that she received nominations from the Young Artist Award, and also the four Teen Choice Awards.
